Dear Responsive Arts & STEAM Academy Community,
We hope this finds you well and ready for the start of another great year! As we prepare to welcome students, staff, and families back to school, we want to share an important leadership update at Responsive Arts & STEAM Academy (RASA).
Dr. Anthony McWright will not be returning to RASA for the upcoming school year.
To ensure a successful start to the 2026-27 school year, we are excited to announce that Mr. Kurt Siebold and Ms. Sandra Just have agreed to serve as the interim principals at RASA.
After serving as the principal of Slavens K-8 for 17 years, Mr. Siebold has continued to support schools across Denver Public Schools. Prior to joining RASA, he served as interim principal at Ellis Elementary School. Mr. Siebold is excited to continue supporting the RASA community in his role as interim principal.
Ms. Just is a Board-Certified Executive Coach and seasoned educational leader with more than 30 years of experience across Denver Public Schools and Colorado’s K–12 landscape. Her career is distinguished by a deep commitment to equity, student success, and transformational leadership, including recognition as a Cahn Fellow for Distinguished Principals and service on multiple state and district-level initiatives.
Both leaders will plan to split their time at the school and both will serve as the building leader. Mr. Siebold and Ms. Just have a wealth of leadership experience and a deep commitment to the students, staff, families, and community at RASA.
Later this fall, we will follow up with additional communication regarding next steps in the principal selection process. Thank you for your understanding, collaboration, and support during this transition. We sincerely appreciate your partnership as we prepare to welcome students, staff, and families back to RASA.
Sincerely,
Ron Salazar
