Greetings amazing RASA Families/Community!
Welcome to our founding 2024-25 school year, we hope you have had a fantastic summer break and are getting excited for the start of school on August 19, 2024 (for K-1) and/or August 20, 2024 (for ECE only)! We have been working non-stop this summer to get everything set up in preparation for your arrival as we launch into our inaugural year. That said, we have a LOT to update you on so please make sure to read this entire message, and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns as they arise 😀 We are here for YOU!
We will be offering both virtual and in person options for back-to-school registration. This is required for ALL families attending RASA this coming year. Please take a look at the dates/times below and pick an option that works best for you and make sure to bring your child’s immunization records with you 🙂
Please review the arrival/dismissal information below and on our website. We appreciate your dedication to ensuring a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up process for everyone with the following designated times. We will be sending a map of pick up and drop off locations next week (once we are officially in the building). We look forward to seeing you and your children starting on August 19, 2024 (for K-1st) and/or August 20, 2024 (ECE only) for a fantastic first day/year of learning and growth at RASA!
Click here for the 24-25 Calendar: For the most part, we will be following the DPS Calendar with a few exceptions. One exception to this is every Thursday, we will have Early Release Dismissal at 1:25pm (see below), instead of at the normal dismissal time. Also, there will be no school for students on four additional dates below (which are not reflected on the DPS calendar above), so please mark your calendars with these additional non-student contact days. We will also provide an updated calendar with all of these the week during registration and will be sending that out the week before school starts once we have the remaining information needed for that, stay tuned 🙂
Please mark your calendars with these additional no school dates 🙂
Bell times will be from 8:35am–3:50pm. Students will be considered tardy after 8:35am and will need to go to the front office for a pass for all grade levels. We will call families. Please note the following times for arrival and dismissal. See “Discovery Link” below for after-school options provided.
We’re thrilled to share that RASA has received a grant to offer the Discovery Link after-school program for FREE through the DPS Extended Learning & Community Schools (ELCS) department! For more information or to register, please click the link above and if you would like to express interest in having Before School programming through Discovery Link, please complete this family interest form 🙂
While we will not require student uniforms at RASA, our dress code is as follows:
Our school supply lists and dress code have been added to our RASA website here as well!
The construction on our amazingly beautiful building is finally wrapping up this week so we can finally start to move in hopefully by the end of the week, yay! In the meantime, here are some recent pics of our building for your viewing enjoyment
Ribbon-Cutting event on 8/2/24 from 1:00-3:00p: On that note, we will be hosting our Ribbon Cutting event on Friday 8/2 from 1-3p, which will be the first time we can invite families to see and experience about all of the opportunities this stunning building can offer! The event will begin with some speeches from our leaders, founding students, key DPS administration / Board Members, and wrap up with musical performances from a few amazing FNE community artists and school tours. Your presence is highly encouraged, though completely OPTIONAL. And if you are willing, please share the fliers attached below to whoever you think might want to come (on social media, by word of mouth, etc.).
Ribbon cutting event tours: We will be having 15 minute school tours from 2-3pm on 8/2/24. Please fill out this form to sign-up for a tour during this time!
As we continue to build and grow our lovely RASA school community, we ask that you continue to Spread the Word with anyone/everyone you know, especially with any rising PK, K, and 1st grade families who might be seeking instruction in their native Spanish language (aka TNLI)!
Additionally, please add us on social media, tag us in a post, and tell your friends! Word of mouth from YOU is the absolute best way to help us spread the word about our amazing school, so your support is encouraged to help build the incredible RASA community we all want to see!
