On Friday, August 2nd, 2024, we proudly hosted the RASA Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. This special event marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for RASA, bringing together students, families, staff, and community members for an afternoon of celebration and inspiration.
The ceremony featured a series of engaging performances and speeches from key figures in our community. The event kicked off with a powerful land acknowledgment by Keith TallBull, followed by an inspiring dance performance from the Rocky Mountain Indigenous Dancers. Attendees were also treated to the beautiful harp music of Calvin Arsenia, who provided a melodic backdrop during transitions and later delivered a full set.
Our Emcee, Alejandro Fuentes, guided the ceremony with energy and grace, introducing distinguished speakers such as Board of Education Director Michelle Quattlebaum, DPS Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero, and DPS Chief of Operations Trena Marsal. We were also honored to hear from Adam West, DPS Energy Engineer, and our very first RASA student, Camilla Martínez-Arneros, along with Zora and Theo, who added a personal touch to the event.
After the official ribbon-cutting, guests were invited to tour our new facilities, enjoy refreshments, and experience live performances by local talents. The event was a true reflection of the vibrant community spirit that RASA embodies, bringing together diverse voices and talents to celebrate our shared vision for the future.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this day unforgettable. We look forward to many more milestones together as we continue to grow and innovate!
